SIX WAYS TO SHOOT A GARMENT

  • Ghost mannequin: the garment is shot on a bust, then the bust is removed in retouching. The piece keeps its volume, as if worn, with no visible mannequin.
  • Pinned: the garment is shaped and pinned to a background for a clean, structured silhouette.
  • White background, in volume: the piece keeps its shape, ideal for jackets, waistcoats and coats.
  • Flat lay: top view, perfect for knitwear, t-shirts and shirts.
  • On a hanger: a natural look, popular for jackets and menswear.
  • Folded: for scarves, knitwear and boxed products.

THE DETAILS THAT SELL

Ribbed knit, a well-built collar, an embroidered label: close-ups are what prove quality. On a product page, they reassure the shopper and justify the price.

I light fabrics at a low angle to bring out their texture, and I check colours so they match exactly the garment the customer receives. Fewer surprises, fewer returns.

CONSISTENT SERIES

In an online store, every piece needs the same framing, the same margins, the same light. We define a shooting guide together and apply it to the whole collection: your catalogue looks as if it was shot on the same day, even across seasons.

To show fit and movement, add on-model photography.

TIP

Send pressed pieces with their labels, and list the colours of every reference: it is the basis of an error-free series.

FAQ

More questions?
Let’s talk.

Flat lay or hanger: which one?

Flat lay for knitwear, t-shirts and shirts; hanger or volume for jackets, waistcoats and coats. We can mix depending on the pieces.

Will the colours be accurate?

Yes, I control colour at the shoot and in retouching so the photo matches the garment your customer receives.

Do you deliver clipped images?

Yes, on a clean white background or clipped as PNG, according to your website and marketplace requirements.
